catching up :)

The last week just flew by ! Last Friday we met some of our friends at the Museum of History and Science in Ft Worth - We also got to all have lunch and had lots of fun !

Digging for bones :)

Adrien saw his Papy and Mamie (= grandma & grandpa) that same day and we've been spending quality times with them. We went to the Ft Worth Zoo with them and had a wonderful time.

Adrien loves riding the train there - Choo choo

We also went to the Trinity Park train on Saturday - Adrien was in heaven !!

Adrien 's first Japanese restaurant. he was captivated by the chef and loved eating with chopsticks. He actually got pretty good at it and ate everything : the salad, Filet Mignon, fried rice . . . we were all very impressed ;)

We've been able to enjoy the pool this week , each day it gets a little warmer & Adrien becomes a little more confident in the water. Next week swimming lessons start . . . so exciting !!
Adrien now loves to jump in the water, go under water, blow bubbles, he loves his floaters.
Potty training is going well for our little puppy . . . wait this is not Duff - it's Adrien . . . kinda hard to tell since they both do potty outside . . . It's a work in progress :)

I had my first jog with Duff this week and we had so much fun. He did great and I know we'll be great running buddies together.
We were able to go out twice this week. We went to the Keg Steakhouse on Wednesday.

and we went out again on Saturday night at Ferre in Sundance Square. The food was just DELICIOUS and we can't wait to go back ! It's definitely a great restaurant if you enjoy gourmet food.
When we walked out of the restaurant we stopped and listened to a band that was playing outside. It was so much fun !

Today was a perfect lazy sunday around the pool. We had fun playing in/out of the house and spent most of the afternoon in the pool.
We've all been cuddling with Duff - we love him so much - he's really been fitting in with our family perfectly. Adrien loves to put his head on his stomach and then he cracks up and laughs when Duff licks Adrien 's hair and head :) too funny to watch. I know they'll become great buddies !

We have one last day with Papy and Mamie before they leave on Tuesday morning. We will miss them. Thank you so much for all your love, and attention. Adrien has been getting fun surprises and trucks all week and loves playing with Papy and Mamie. He runs to them to tickle them, cuddles with them, cooks pretend food for them, plays with the trucks, with his play-dough, reads stories . . . so many wonderful and precious memories !!!! It's always so nice to be with family. We can't help but wish we were closer but we are always thankful for the time we do get to spend together. My mom always says:" it's not the quantity that counts, but the quality" . We sure took advantage of our time together and we all loved having them with us. I got to relax and take a little break too. It was nice to have help and look at Adrien play with others for a little. I love spending time with him but the last months we've been so busy that I was really getting a little burned out. Thank you for allowing me to step back and take a little break ! Big hugs !

Our new life :)

If you put yourself in a position where you have to stretch outside your comfort zone, then you are forced to expand your consciousness."
Les Brown

Christophe and I have always seen eye to eye on one thing : We enjoy stepping out of our comfort zone.

We like to try new things, and take risks and when we believe in something, we just go for it. When he had job offers that made sense we were always ready to jump in ! That's how we moved to the US, then later on to Ft Lauderdale, then almost moved to Australia, and finally ended up in Texas. Buying Real Estate, starting a family, we were getting into a new comfort zone . . . the next logical step ? Adopt a puppy :)
We both love dogs and always dreamt of adopting one. Since it is harder than we thought to have another child, we thought it would be the perfect time to adopt a puppy. After a full weekend I am so happy to have a puppy, a little shaken from my normal routine, but overall full of love and happiness and looking forward to our new adventures with my 3 boys ;)

Adrien and Carter got to hang out - here they are watching Thomas the train - same posture-
Thanks to Brian and Jodie's help, Christophe was able to put the Pergola up this weekend. We are so excited to have it installed and I feel so relieved not to have the box in my entryway like it has been the last two months . . . !!! Thank you so much guys !

The new member of the family: Duff Hanckowiak , a cute 4months and a half black labrador retriever. We adopted him from the DFW Labrador rescue club and his foster parents brought him home on Saturday morning.

Adrien is starting to learn to be potty trained, and was half naked all day today. It helps him know & feel when he has to go and it worked pretty well. I am basically potty training a puppy and a toddler at the same time - talk about being out of my comfort zone ;) We spent most of the day outside though to increase our chance of success !
Duff is pretty laid back, he's hyper in the morning but after a little exercise and play time, he seems happy to just sit and observe.

We took "the boys" to the park this morning. We wanted to see if we could do it. It was fun but a little stressful. Duff gets super excited at other dogs and Adrien wants to hold the leash, Duff wants to lead . . . and we're learning to become the "alpha dogs" of the pack ! Never I thought I would add that on my to do list but it's up there now.
We really are so happy to have Duff with us !
Christophe and I were still able to go out on a date Saturday night, we went to the melting pot and had a delicious dinner. The last time we had a date was in december so it was long overdue. The best part was to talk and catch up after the last two weeks. It was just what we needed and we had a wonderful time !! After our meal we just had to walk to Borders and purchase the Idiot's guide to owning a Lab - we've been reading ever since, a chapter here and there and are learning a lot. I know what you're thinking . .. probably should have read the book before getting the dog. Our hearts were ready but we definitely have a better understanding now of what the next few months will be like.
