French Country side

We arrived at my parent's house on June 24th and had a great week !  The weather was a little cool so we got to wear jeans and long sleeves again for a little bit . . . a nice change from the Texas heat :)

Our first morning Adrien was so excited to have "pain au chocolat" dipped in a hot chocolate :) MMMH! He loves fresh croissants and pains au chocolat .... just as much as we both did growing up.
He got to ride the carousel with his cousins
We went out for a nice long walk to fly our kite in the fields

I used to ride my bike there for HOURS when I was younger so it brought back so many nice memories and it was nice to show Adrien where I grew up.  The last time he visited my parent's house he was 7 months old so this time I was able to show him around.

I was flying the kite at one point until I got it caught in the middle of the field...my mom had to go and get it...woops :) Need more practice :)

My little country man picking up flowers on the road for his " Ninne cherie "
My parent's house - no AC needed, the walls are made of stones and SUPER thick

On our last day we had great weather, Adrien went out to fish in the backyard
When he first saw the backyard, he called it a park  ;) it was cute !  He really loved walking around and going in the woods, taking the trails and picking up sticks, taking boat rides, going in the swing, the little house...just HEAVEN for a happy 3 year old boy !

Adrien enjoyed daily walks with Ninne and boat rides around the little pond.  He loved it !

Adrien got to ride his bike with his cousins :)
We went to visit the "chateau sauvage" and had a wonderful time.  We walked all around for about 3 hours and got to see a lot of animals living around the castle in the wild.

Adrien had his stick to walk with and his binoculars :)

cute kangaroos :) The kids got to feed them and pet them - it was pretty neat !

Adrien and Monoi loved grocery shopping, they had their won cart to fill ... " Bonjour Madame ! "

Visiting the beautiful Cathedral of Chartres - I love seeing it every time I go home

Adrien loves the French Carousels :)
A fun lunch at the "creperie"  where all you eat is crepes ... MMMH :)

 Adrien LOVED it !!!

a few pics of Epernon, where my grandpa was Mayor for several years.  This is the little town where I had my piano lessons, dance lessons, and tennis lessons :)

Monoi, Adrien and my Mom "Ninne"
on our last day he got to swim for a little, the water was a little cold but he was happy to get in.
Adrien loved getting on the tractor  :)
All cousins united for a photo before we left for the airport ... Adrien said:"I love you guys I will miss you" and it's true now that we're in the South of France, at night he asks me where Ninne & Titou are and where all his cousins are... We were grateful for the special moments we shared !
I loved being able to share with Adrien a few things from my childhood and loved the quality time we had with everyone :)
